Yesterday Bungie.net posted its Weekly Update. It was mostly about how Halo: Reach is going to be updated in the coming weeks, but something interesting caught my eye. It showed what percentage of players were at a specific rank. According to Bungie, as of 10/08/10, 70% of players are at Warrant Officer or below, and 1% of players have reached the current level cap set after Lt. Colonel Grade 3.
Bungie went on to say that the Warrant Officer ranks are some of the slowest so far, with a crazy amount of experience needed to reach the next compared to the previous ranks. But, fear not, because once you reach the rank of Captain, things speed up again.
For those of you that hit the cap, don't worry: you won't stop earning credits, your rank just won't increase. This is all logistical BS for Bungie to take care of before they feel comfortable unlocking the rest of the items and ranks for the public. BTW, Bungie hasn't announced when that's going to happen.
Below is the chart. Note that Private A is Private Grade 1 and Warrant Officer B is Warrant Officer Grade 2.
Oh, I think I see you! Is that you down there at Corporal?! n00b! |
The ranks are divided into the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Upper Quartile. As of this writing, I'm just barely below Warrant Officer Grade 3, so I've already broken into the Upper Quartile...God that feels good. So I want to know, where do you rank?
*UPDATE*
10/15/10 I reached the rank of Captain, thrusting myself into the upper echelon and the top 10% of all Reach players. Kneel before Zod!
*UPDATE #2*
10/23/10 Reached the rank of Major today. Time flies when you're awesome.
